Album Review: Take Action Compilation Volume 11

Author: Tori

Take Action was founded in 1999 by Sub-City which is Hopeless Records’ non-profit organization. Every year they release a two-disc compilation of exclusive songs and they put together an awesome tour. This year the tour features The Used, We Came As Romans, Crown The Empire, and more. The Take Action Compilations are something I look forward to every year; they are a great opportunity to donate to a good cause while also discovering new music. In fact, I found out about some of my current favorite bands from past Take Action Compilations. A portion of the money from each sale of the Take Action Volume 11 compilation goes to help benefit the It Gets Better Project.

Even if there are some artists on the track list that you haven't heard of (yet), I highly recommend purchasing it anyway. The Take Action compilation albums are one of my favorite ways to discover new artists as well as jam to some of my favorites.  Take Action Volume 11 includes songs from some insanely talented artists including Falling In Reverse, Memphis May Fire, The Used, All Time Low, and Never Shout Never…just to name a few. Something else that makes this compilation album special is that they feature a few special remixes and acoustic versions on it. Although I don't really enjoy remixes, I adore the acoustic versions on the album; my favorite out of the bunch is definitely Sleeping With Sirens' acoustic version of "James Dean & Audrey Hepburn".

It is safe to say that the Take Action Compilation Volume 11 has a perfect balance of genres; there is something for everyone to enjoy. You can purchase the album iTunes on January 8!
