Keltie Knight Interview with Rock Forever Magazine

Your book “The Imperfections of James and Kate" just came out on Valentine’s Day. What was the biggest challenge you faced while developing the characters and creating the storyline?

"Finding the time to write! I'm so busy filming The Insider everyday, that I would literally have to stay up all night after a 14 hour day to write my chapters for the book!"

What message do you want readers will take away from this book?

"That love and relationships are not always perfect, but they are worth it."

You have a blog on Buzznet that covers a variety of topics including fashion, hair, makeup, and tattoos. I admire your creativity in each of your posts. Where do you find inspiration for your blog and how do you deal with writer’s block?

"I've been blogging for so long now, it seems very odd if I experience something without sharing it! I'm just inspired by life! I love to talk about love, and I just bought my first house, so I'm really into decor right now. It's always where I get to share my fun adventures and behind the scenes photos from all my huge red carpets!"

One fun fact that I didn’t know about you is that you were a Rockette for several years. How did you make the transition from being a dancer to becoming a blogger/host?

"When I was little my mother told me that I could be anything I wanted when I grew up, and I took that to heart. If I'm passionate about something, I will find a way to work my butt off until it becomes a reality! I grew up dancing so it was a natural career path, and TV is part of the entertainment world too, so the two really had a ton in common. I use the determination and work ethic I learned in ballet school when I am preparing to interview a huge A-lister."

You have interviewed countless celebrities including Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, Adam Levine, and Pink (just to name a few). What has been your craziest celebrity encounter so far?

"There are too many to count! Adam Levine let me smell him(really close), Darren Criss let me audition to be in his band, and Julia Roberts told me I was "sexy." I think all celebrities are just a little bit crazy so every encounter surprises me!"

What are your top 3 tips for aspiring reporters?

"Become an expert in something, that will be your foot in the door.
Be nice to people, not just because they can help you.
Work harder than anyone else!"

What has been the highlight of your career so far?

"I think my highlight is whenever I get notes on twitter or Instagram from other young women that tell me that they are inspired to follow their own dreams because they have seen me work hard and achieve mine. I love that!"

What are your upcoming plans that fans can look forward to?

"Right now I am just prepping for The Oscars on March 2nd, and excited to see what everyone thinks after reading my new book The Imperfections of James and Kate!!!"
